Draft for review by GEMS Sanctuary. This page will be finalized before launch.
GEMS Sanctuary is a ministry of GEMS' Inc., based in Port St. Lucie, Florida. This policy explains what information this website collects, why, and what we do with it.
What we collect
- When you ask for help through our intake form: your name, email, phone number, how you prefer to be contacted, who the request is for, the area you need help with, whether you believe in Christ and attend a church (you can choose not to say), how you would like to meet, and what you choose to share about what is going on.
- When you register for a gathering: your name, email, optional phone number, and how many people are coming.
- When you agree to our confidentiality statement: the date and time, and the internet address (IP address) your request came from, as a record of that consent.
- Staff accounts: Cris, Cal, and anyone they authorize sign in with an email and password. Visitors do not need an account.
Why we collect it
To reach out to you personally, to prepare for your needs analysis, to plan gatherings, and to keep this website safe from abuse. We do not use your information for advertising.
Who can see it
Only Cris and Cal, and people they personally authorize to help care for you. What you share about what is going on is encrypted before it is stored, and it is never sent by email. Our notification emails only say that someone is waiting and link to our secure sign-in. We record when a staff member opens your request.
Where it is stored
This website and its database run on Cloudflare. Emails from this site, such as a gathering confirmation or a password reset, are sent through Resend. These providers process information on our behalf and may store it in the United States.
Cookies
We set one cookie, and only when a staff member signs in, to keep them signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
What we never do
- Sell or rent your information.
- Share your story with anyone outside our ministry without your permission, except as described below.
- Add you to a mailing list because you asked for help or registered for a gathering.
When we would share information
If someone is in immediate danger, or if we learn of abuse of a child or vulnerable adult, we will contact emergency services or report as Florida law requires. See our confidentiality statement.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as we are walking with you, and afterward so we can follow up. You can ask us to remove it at any time.
Your choices
To see, correct, or remove the information we have about you, email hello@gemssanctuary.com.
Children
This website is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13. Children are only recorded when a parent or guardian includes them as part of a family request.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top.
